After “This”

We are the Magenta Cohort at Virginia Commonwealth University. Throughout the year 2020, we have faced many challenges. We have been isolated from one another and remained isolated for the majority of the year. We are here to demonstrate that no matter the circumstances we have found a way to work with one another in collaboration by creating our book, but be hundreds even thousands of miles apart. The university is located in Richmond, but its’ students live in other cities and states. Through this project, we can be connected with one another as well as be able to get to know one another.

This 78 page, perfect bound, glossy cover book features original content created by a cohort of 18 designers. Brought together through the Graphic Design department at Virginia Commonwealth University, we set out to question what the future holds post-COVID, and what we imagine our future narrative(s) will be then, in book form. Chock full of writing, photographs, illustrations, collages, coloring pages, a design-your-own political cartoon page, and much more, we hope After “This” leaves you curious and hopeful about the future and what yours has in store.

All proceeds of the book are donated to MAD RVA.
